Two men killed in Toronto shooting on Sunday identified

Two men shot dead in Toronto on Sunday evening have been identified as the two victims of the mass shooting at a house party that involved multiple shooters and injured 15 people.

The Toronto police chief Mark Saunders said on Thursday that a third person had died in hospital, taking the total number of dead to three.

Dozens of people were injured at an outdoor house party late on Sunday after people in two vehicles pulled up and started shooting, Saunders said.

Details about the motive and relationship between the victims and suspects were not immediately clear.

Police initially said there were five victims, but Saunders said on Thursday that one man has been confirmed dead by the family, who say it was likely that the other victims died at the scene of the shooting.

Saunders said it was too early to determine whether the victims were targeted or if they were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. The gunman was still at large on Thursday and police urged people in the community to look out for him.

Police said they were reviewing surveillance footage, which they described as disturbing.

Police on Tuesday searched two properties in west-end Toronto believed to be connected to the shooting.
