This could be a chaotic day for commuters in the capital

Update (12:20pm GMT): Victoria, Central and Jubilee are the lines to be disrupted, as part of a three-day rail strike by London Underground staff, the Network Rail industrial action and walking out of members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union, RMT union.

Parts of the Western and Northern lines also stopped. Central Line engineering works that cause major disruptions during the week are scheduled to start tomorrow.

Passengers leaving Victoria via Waterloo Street tube station were forced to walk along a significant section of road as buses were restricted. Several streets were strewn with discarded documents.

Trains are expected to run until the strike ends on Thursday. No services are expected on the Northern Line and Waterloo-London Bridge line until then.

The Transport for London (TfL) is urging Londoners to rely on their car and public transport in the most extreme cases.

Update: Updates to come.
