Rapper Machine Gun Kelly Fires Back at Snub at Grammy Nominations for Post Malone Collaboration

The 2020 Grammy Awards didn’t find room for rapper Machine Gun Kelly in this year’s nominees announcement, which came days after he made controversial remarks about Post Malone’s 2017 hit “Rockstar.”

The 25-year-old decided to not attend the Grammy noms announcement Thursday. It’s unclear why.

Kelly quickly shot back on Twitter.

“it’s been a while since i’ve had the time to dig deep into this…but it doesn’t matter why the #GRAMMYs snubbed me. i just know we can’t let them get away with that…naaaaay!” he wrote.

i’ve been wanting to make a statement on this since we last got an opportunity, but it’s been a while since i’ve had the time to dig deep into this…but it doesn’t matter why the #GRAMMYs snubbed me. i just know we can’t let them get away with that. naaaaay!! — Machine Gun Kelly (@machinegunkelly) January 18, 2019

A few hours later, Kelly claimed to be back to make a bigger statement.

“i’m back. excuse the casual trolling. [RAWWSHHH].”

Post Malone’s album Beerbongs & Bentleys is one of this year’s top contenders, earning a total of eight nominations. Malone and 21 Savage, whose collaboration “Rockstar” led the way with eight nominations, were the biggest names announced in the nominations for this year’s Grammys.

Kelly was also nominated for a Grammy for “Bad and Boujee,” while Malone is up for four awards.

The awards show will air live on CBS from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, March 9, from 8-11 p.m. ET.
